ABOUT US

The Barlby Schools Sports Partnership has gone through many changes over the last few years. This is partly to do with the Governement cutting the funding and how they distributed the funding.

Currently the partnership constists of 6 clusters.

Barlby

Brayton

Carlton

Selby

Sherburn

Tadcaster

Each cluster has a varying number of primary schools in which the hub provides sporting opportunities for all from ages 5-16yrs old

Tadcaster is currently the only cluster who have a traditional School Sport Coordinator, the rest have used funding to employ Primary School PE Specialists or Event Organisers.

Together we use all our skills to provide coaching and expertise to the primary schools so they can take part in competition.

The Sainsbury's School Games is the Government's initiative for school sport and is their strategic priority to increase the number of young people participating in competition and provide a lasting legacy for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games. The Schools Games are funded by DCMS, DoH, DfE and Sport England Lottery Funding, with outcomes across School, Health and Sport. Sainsbury's are now the official sponsor for the Games.
